ILCC Scholarship for HS Juniors

ILCC offers a $1,000 Scholarship to current area Juniors.   You can only apply for this one your Junior year, so I encourage all of you to do this if you have a 2.0 or higher gpa (you can check this on your student JMC online to see if yours is high enough - it is your cumulative GPA).

Tomorrow (Wed.) during 7th and advisory
there will be volunteers from ILCC in the cafeteria

that
can help you get going on this.

Clyde and Grace Sanborn High School Junior Student
The Clyde and Grace Sanborn High School Junior Scholarship was established at Iowa Lakes Community College in 2005. Several $1,000 scholarships are awarded to high school juniors from Estherville, Ringsted, Gruver, Armstrong, Swea City, Terril and Graettinger, Iowa and also students with a Dunnell, Minnesota address attending Martin County West High School with minimum cumulative 2.0 GPA who are planning to enroll full time at Iowa Lakes Community College the fall semester following high school graduation. This is a competitive scholarship; application does not guarantee award. Award does not obligate recipients to attend Iowa Lakes Community College. Award must be used for tuition, books or fees.

Here is the link if you want to get started - make sure to chose the correct one once you have an account created

ILCC online scholarship application!

Seniors~
ILCC will be here tomorrow from 12:30-1:30 to help any seniors with their ILCC online scholarship applications.  It is extremely important you take the time to do the ILCC online scholarship application if there is any chance you may attend ILCC next fall.  This is a completely separate application from the ones that are on my blog and are provided locally.  The ILCC online app can qualify you for MANY scholarships with one application.  Please take the time to stop in tomorrow to get started!!

Last year ILCC awarded about $87,000 to our students through this application.  Don't be the one to miss out!!!!

This application also requires you to get recommendations.  Remember, it is courtesy that you ask your recommenders ahead of time and use your manners - as they are doing you a favor by completing this for you!  Also remember to select people who know you well and can do a good recommendation for you - this will benefit you the most.  Good people to select would be teachers, coaches, employers, etc who know you well.

Lastly, type any "essays" or "paragraphs" about yourself in a format that you can save and re-use and change as needed.  You will be able to use these as you continue to work on scholarships later!
